Do I need to buy Power BI?
No. The CFO report opens in the free Power BI Desktop. You only need paid Power BI licences if you want to share the report online with many users.
Does it change anything in my Tally data?
No. Sync only reads from Tally. The only feature that writes to Tally is the Excel import, which you run yourself and can undo.
Is my data sent to the cloud?
No. Your Tally data is copied to SQL Server on your own computer or server and stays there.
